Routenbeschreibung

L’escursione in argomento è assolutamente sconsigliata a bikers inesperti in quanto presuppone dimestichezza in ambienti montani, passo sicuro e senso dell’orientamento.

photos "Mirand'all'intorno, it seemed that I fussi in the air" told in the sixteenth century Francesco De Marchi who at the age of sixty-nine, made the first ascent to the summit of Corno Grande. The Corno Grande (2912m) is the highest peak of the massif of the Gran Sasso and the Apennines. Of geomorphological conformation similar to those of the Dolomite groups, although formed largely of limestone. It is composed of four peaks between which the western ie the highest. It 's on the latter that we have dared to rise in order to fulfill one of the most exciting and rewarding descents that we can make the whole chain of Gran Sasso. The tour in question is absolutely not recommended for inexperienced bikers as it assumes familiarity in mountain environments, and sure-footed sense of direction. It is recommended to follow the route with perfect weather conditions while avoiding the weekend due to the massive influx of people. From the square of Campo Imperatore Observatory and climb the Sella di Monte Aquila with short ridable. From the saddle goes on easy path first and then tackle a steep rise in the shadow of the Saxon portage from the saddle of Brecciaio. The second and far more tough stretch in portage, cha moves from Conca Invalides, leads to the roof of the Apennines where the view spans 360 degrees on all the other peaks of the Gran Sasso, a large part of central Italy, the Adriatic Sea and other large and massive groups which Sibillini Apennines, Laga, Majella, Velino and Sirente. Also from the normal route you go down at the fork to the Passo del Cannone. Be careful not to take over the now disused valley via ferrata Brizzi. Turn right and yet another stroke bike on his shoulder brings in the most complicated step in consideration footprint of the bike, the absence of the points where they could secure, and a small section of via ferrata. Also often, even in summer, insidious tongues of snow persist in the most dangerous part of the route, a delicate transition that, in the absence of restraint systems exposes the hiker to a colossal leap of faith. After crossing the Passo del Cannone began the great descent to the saddle of the Two Horns, made up of steps on scree and delicious curves. We proceed in single track arriving at the Franchetti refuge to wallow in the spectacular Valley of the Crows. Once at the Madonnina, a steep and rough trail, highlighted only by obsolete signals on the rock, turns right at the shelter slipping St. Nicholas. Leaving the hut on the left keep on going down to ever deviate left into the bush not before he turned to admire the grandeur of the "ledges". Upon entering the forest the trail back clear and pleasantly technical, meanders to the church of San Nicola to engage on a wide track that finally entering Casale San Nicola concludes the route.
