Il percorso ad anello parte dallo spiazzale antistante la località di Portella Femmina Morta a 1540m s.l.m. o se si vuole avere un punto di riferimento anche gastronomico, alla vicina Villa Miraglia. Si inizia con un tratto pianeggiante in asfalto che porta fino a Portella Calacudera, luogo dal quale inizia la salita vera e propria, ancora asfaltata ma dal fondo molto sdrucciolevole. La salita termina in vetta a Monte Soro (1847m s.l.m.), la cima più alta dei Nebrodi, sede di una caserma dei Carabinieri che piantonano il parco delle antenne ripetitrici (luogo a cui è impedito l'accesso). A destra del cancello in ferro parte la sterrata che si inoltra nella boscaglia e che subito dopo si apre su un laghetto ai piedi delle antenne. Da qui inizia la discesa su un fondo battuto e con la vista che si apre a sud sulla vallata del Simeto, con l'Etna che si staglia imponente sullo sfondo. Dopo alcuni bivi la discesa si fa impegnativa, su fondo a volte pietroso e che si insinua nel bosco. Alla fine della discesa siamo a 1280m s.l.m. che è la quota del Lago Biviere di Cesarò, importante oasi naturalistica del Parco dei Nebrodi che ospita molte varietà di uccelli migratori, tartarughe autoctone, rettili ed insetti tipici della fauna lacustre. Percorriamo la sterrata a monte del lago ed arriviamo presso la masseria dei proprietari del terreno ove è posto il lago. Ci toccherà scavalcare una cancellata, chiedendo il permesso se i proprietari sono presenti. Dal lago riprende la salita in direzione Passo Taverna, raggiunto il quale svoltiamo a sinistra in direzione del Lago Maulazzo, altro importante specchio d'acqua del Parco. Qui possiamo rifocillarci alla fontana ai piedi del lago e percorrerne il periplo pedalando sotto la faggeta. Il bivio all'estremità opposta del lago ci porta in salita su fondo molto accidentato di nuovo alla Portella Calacudera e da qui al punto di partenza, dopo aver percorso circa 24 km.

From here begins the descent to the bottom of a beat and with a view that opens to the south of the valley of the Simeto, with Etna stands majestic in the background. After a few forks in the descent becomes binding on the bottom and sometimes stony, which meanders through the woods. At the end of the descent we are at 1280m s.l.m. which is the portion of Lake Biviere Cesaro, important natural oasis of Nebrodi Park that is home to many varieties of migratory birds, native turtles, reptiles and insects typical of the lake fauna. We drive along the dirt road upstream of the lake and arrive at the farm of the owners of the land where the lake is located. Will we have to climb over a fence, asking permission if the owners are present. From the lake resumed the climb to Passo Tavern, at which turn left in the direction of Lake Maulazzo, another important body of water in the Park. Here we can refresh ourselves at the fountain at the foot of the lake and the circumnavigation percorrerne pedaling under the beech forest. The junction at the opposite end of the lake leads us uphill on a very bumpy back to Portella Calacudera and from there to the starting point, after about 24 km.
