Pomino è un paese famoso per la produzione del Chianti Rufina e Pomino zona tipica di produzione. Il passo della Consuma invece è la tipica meta del frescheggio estivo fiorentino, della merenda al passo e delle passeggiate nei boschi circostanti.
Questo giro raggiunge il passo dal paese di Pomino, attraverso boschi secolari e valli nascoste.
Dalla bella chiesa romanica di Pomino la strada asfaltata sale ripida per alcune centinaia di metri, quindi spiana e dopo poco si addentra in un dedalo di strade sterrate, dove l'incontro con i branchi di cinghiali e caprioli è frequente. Si passa oltre i ruderi di una vecchia fonderia e le rovine della chiesa della Madonna dei Fossi, quindi si scende fino a al rudere di un bel ponte medievale, da dove si risale una vallata nascosta sull'altro versante fino a incontrare lo 00 sul crinale (segni bianchi e rossi). Lo 00 segue le strade sterrate di crinale attraverso splendidi boschi fino al passo della Consuma, con pochissimo dislivello.
Qui si approfitta per fare merenda (il ritorno è praticamente tutta discesa): la schiacciata con i funghi che si mangia nella baita in cima al passo è irrinunciabile. Si riparte in discesa su strada asfaltata (attenzione, è una statale!), passando e superando il paese di Consuma fino all'accesso a destra del sentiero 5, rapidamente discendente (con solo una breve piccola risalita) fino di nuovo alla Madonna dei Fossi, da dove rapidamente per la strada di salita si torna a Pomino.

Here is the opportunity to have a snack (the return is almost all downhill): the dunk with mushrooms that you eat in the hut in top of the pass is a must. It starts downhill on paved road (be careful, it's a state!), Passing and passing the town of access consumes up to the right of the path 5, rapidly descending (with only a short small lifts) up again to the Madonna dei Fossi , where it quickly for the road climb back to Pomino.
