Dal comune di Montorio al Vomano si sale su strada provinciale in direzione Schiaviano. Superato il bivio per Poggio Umbricchio proseguiamo a dx sempre in leggera salita fino a giungere ad un valico dove davanti si stanzia il lungo crinale che arriva a San Giorgio. In corrispondenza di una strada sbarrata a sx inizia la discesa dapprima su breccia, poi su pista sterrata. Oltrepassato un pianoro erboso la traccia entra nella boscaglia divenendo piacevole single track con qualche tratto tecnico tra roccia arenaria ma mai impossibile. Si sbuca nell'abitato di Altavilla e da quest'ultimo si prende su bitume in direzione Santa Croce. Bisogna ora scendere nel fosso sito tra a Santa Croce e Altavilla pertanto dalla s.p. deviamo a sx improvvisamente in corrispondenza di un vecchio capannone e guadiamo un primo ruscello. Breve tratto in ripida risalita e subito giù a guadare un secondo ruscello. Ennesimo strappo in risalita per poter mollare definitivamente i freni lungo il bellissimo sentiero che scende nella bassa Valle del Vomano, una location esclusiva che sommata a quella che sovrasta Altavilla sembrano destinate a diventare un cult dell'Alto Vomano Valley. Ripresa la S.S. del Gran Sasso d'Italia il ritorno a Montorio e tutto su bitume in leggera discesa.

From the town of Montorio al Vomano you get on the main road in the direction Schiaviano. After the fork to continue on the right Poggio Umbricchio always slightly uphill until you come to a pass where he settles in front of the long ridge that comes to St. George. At a road blocked on the left starts the first descent of the breach, then on dirt track. After crossing a grassy track enters the bush becoming nice technical single track with some stretch of sandstone but never impossible. The trail leads to the village of Altavilla and from the latter takes on bitumen in the direction of the Holy Cross. We must now go down in the ditch located between Santa Croce and therefore Altavilla from sp deviate to the left suddenly at an old shed and wade a stream first. Short steep ascent and immediately down to wade a second stream. Yet another tear in lifts to finally give up the brakes along the beautiful trail that descends into the lower valley Vomano, an exclusive location which, added to that which dominates Altavilla seem destined to become a cult Vomano Upper Valley. Shooting the S.S. Gran Sasso of Italy's return in Montorio and all of bitumen slightly downhill.
