Parte iniziale in salita tutta su asfalto, con breve tragitto pianeggiante all'interno dei giardini "Parterre" di Cortona e salita sino alla pineta del monte S. Egidio (altitudine circa 900 mt). Da qui inizia il sentiero in discesa ed in pianura su fondo a terra battuta, fangoso in inverno che si snoda al limitare del bosco che caratterizza il cono più alto del monte ( da circa 90 mt a 1100 mt di altitudine). La vista è mozzafiato e ci sono scorci di vallata che vanno dall'Umbria con vista sul Lago Trasimeno, a Montepulciano (di fronte) sino a Civitella ed Arezzo con il monte Pratomagno sullo sfondo. Si giunge poi ad un borgo ristrutturato di recente che caratterizza la parte centrale dell'abitato di "La Contadina" con ville e boschi che sembrano provenire da un libro di favole….Segue poi un lungo tragitto asfaltato in forte pendenza a scendere abbastanza tecnico letteralmente in mezzo al bosco, con termine nella frazione di Tavarnelle in prossimità della Caserma dei Vigili del Fuoco di Cortona.

Part of the initial uphill all on asphalt, with short flat in the gardens "Parterre" of Cortona and climb up to the pine forest of Mount St. Egidio (altitude 900 m). From here the trail begins downhill and on the flat bottom of a clay, muddy in winter winds at the edge of the forest that characterizes the cone's highest mountain (from about 90 meters to 1100 meters above sea level). The view is breathtaking and there are glimpses of the valley ranging from Umbria overlooking Lake Trasimeno, Montepulciano (in front) until Civitella and Arezzo with Pratomagno mountain in the background. You then come to a village recently renovated which characterizes the central part of the town of "La Contadina" with villas and woods that seem to come from a book of fairy tales ... .Segue then a long journey paved steep slope to go down quite literally technical in the woods, ending in the village of Greve near the barracks of the Fire Department of Cortona.
