CONSIGLIO A TUTTI GLI APPASSIONATI DI CROSS COUNTRY SU FONDO VARIO QUESTO ANELLO DI 30KM, PER LA GAMMA DI FONDI SU CUI SI PASSA, PER I TRATTI DI PERCORSO DIVERTENTE SE AFFRONTATO A VELOCITà SOSTENUTA MA SOPRATTUTTO PER LA FAUNA VOLATILE E LA FLORA CHE IL PARCO DEL BASSO CORSO DEL SERIO PUO' OFFRIRE.
Si può partire dal ponte di Mozzanica-Castel Gabbiano, dove nei pressi vi è un parcheggio, si risale la destra orografica del fiume Serio, fino al ponte di Cologno-Ghisalba per poi ridiscendere dalla riva opposta del fiume.
La pista sulla riva destra è piuttosto varia: inizialmente si passa su un fondo con terra battuta e ghiaia abbastanza scorrevole, fino a giungere ad un ponticello su un canale; a questo punto inizia un tratto divertente se percorso a velocità sostenuta: sentiero stretto, qualche dosso, curve. Dopo tale tratto riprende il fondo scorrevole di terra battuta con alcuni tratti di sentiero stretto e un paio in boschetti con qualche slalom tra rami e radici. Giunti al ponte di Bariano-Romano di Lombardia, passando da sotto, ci si aggancia alla ciclabile di Morengo, che si percorre fino in fondo, giungendo ad un ponte su un canale scolmatore. Da qui inizia il pezzo meno curato; dopo una cappelletta ci si immette in un breve boschetto con fondo a tratti fangoso; dopo una sbarra, percorsi c.a 200m sbucati dal bosco, sulla destra si guada una roggia che attraversa la strada per poi riprendere un tratto di sentiero stretto ma con fondo in terra battutta parecchio scorrevole che costeggia dapprima un boschetto e poi il fiume. Si sbuca su una carrabile sterrata che, svoltando a sinistra ci porta verso il comune di Cologno al Serio, allontanandosi dal fiume. Il percorso, dopo varie svolte [seguire la traccia GPS] giunge, oltrepassata la località Fornazette, al terzo ponte, da attraversare con un po' di attenzione per via del sostenuto traffico di autoveicoli. Ora si passa sulla sinistra orografica del fiume Serio. Dopo aver percorso quasi un chilometro e mezzo su asfalto, lanciati a circa 70km/h dal dislivello creato dal ponte, appena prima del cancello di una ditta di asfalti, si svolta a destra per imboccare la pista che su fondo di terra battuta con poca ghiaia compatta, ci porta fino a Romano di Lombardia, dopo esser passati sul comune di Martinengo. In questo tratto e sul successivo prestare un po' di attenzione ai punti -a volte segnalati e a volte meno- in cui la pista è interrotta bruscamente perchè inghiottita dalla corrente del fiume. Giunti al ponte di Bariano-Romano si prosegue diritti passandovi sotto, lasciando a sinistra un'impresa di prefabbricati in cemento e si continua a seguire la pista, compiendo ogni qualvolta vi sia la possibilità di immettersi su una buona pista, una svolta a destra, mantenendo così una certa vicinanza al fiume che non diventa mai superiore ai 70m. Si giunge infine in prossimità del ponte di Mozzanica-Castel Gabbiano dove si risale a livello della strada principale per attraversarlo e giungere così al parcheggio.

He ends up on a dirt driveway, turning left takes us to the town of Cologno al Serio, away from the river.
