SCHEDA TECNICA
Verso Antiorario - Lunghezza = 37 Km - Dislivello Sal/Disc = +750 m
Quote min/Max = 80 / 610 - Tempo Standard ore 3:40 min
Velocità media = 10,1 Km/ora - Ciclabilità su tempo 91% (a piedi 20 min)

TECHNICAL
Towards CCW - Length = 37 km - Altitude difference Sal / Disc = +750 m
Quote Min / Max = 80 / 610 - Standard Time 3:40 am
min Average speed = 10.1 km / h - saddle on time 91% (20 min walk)
Technical Difficulty = 7.4 MEDIUM - MEDIUM GD = 49 < br>
NOTE: The lack of cycling (20 min walk) is due to the crossing of the shelter (wp I2 q. 560) to the ridge of Mount Sabotino: we dragged the bike, both uphill and downhill!
A word of advice: leave the bike tied or kept at the shelter (open on Sundays) and make the hike up to the point I6 (stops half an hour + A + R) - also get the panoramic stretch I4 - I5 - shelter ( admire, on the Slovenian side, the monastery of Sveta Gora); The trail is well marked but still not cycle. So, back to the hut and shoot the bike, start down the road made the first leg, until I wp q. 475 Here is a short (200 m) connection to the track downhill in wp K, the same height (with this trick the cycling climbs to 99%).
DESCRIPTION:
From the park, you go out via Cravos and it takes right off of the Red House which brings in Slovenia; is now a cycle path, shortly after there is a tunnel (illuminated), then it verges on the station Nova Gorica, then you go to cross a bridge on the Isonzo (Soca).
The road starts to climb and After about 200 m, in the wp B crosses to the left down a steep dirt road then goes to follow the course of the river. Now the track opens with gentle ups and downs and continues to follow the railway line and the river giving, occasionally, great glimpses of views.
After a few kilometers on a slight slope in the wp D abandons the river for a beautiful forest at a constant gradient (7-8%) reaches the ridge to q. 390 A short descent followed by an ascent leads to the wp F where there are signs for Monte Sabotino. In wp G end of the road but it keeps the direction of a lovely little path where you have to defend against a sometimes intrusive vegetation (brambles). In wp H converges on the main (so to speak) asphalt ends at the refuge (Koca Na Sabotinu q.560m). Read the NOTE and decide whether to make the ridge walk or take the bike also.
Downhill, attentive to the junction L q. 355 (easy to get distracted and go straight!). After the M wp the road narrows to the path, but not very close with exposed and some obstacles (best 4 foot steps that risk). After a lift of 60m is pointing down (with some contropendenza) and arrive quickly to the deck of the Tower that allows to go over the river, and back to Gorizia from the west.
In the Piazza della Vittoria you can take refreshments in the historic local Winecafe, before going down to the pedestrian tunnel that runs through the hill of the Castle of Gorizia.
